La Maison du Cure is a self catering holiday cottage in the village of Cormatin. It has 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people. It is ideal for families and is available throughout the year. There is a secluded garden and terrace to the rear.
La Maison du Cure used to be the home of the priest of Cormatin. Although it has been extensively restored many of the original features have been retained.
Location
Cormatin is renowned for its amazingly well preserved 17th Century Chateau and gardens. The village is well provided for with two boulangeries, a pharmacy, a grocer, a pizza cafe, a tabac and couple of restaurants. There is a thriving craft centre at the old textile mill. During the summer there is a series of concerts and musical events, many held at the Chateau or on the Plan d'Eau by the river.
The area is wonderful for rollerbladers and cyclists as the Voie Verte runs by Cormatin and provides easy access to the vineyards and surrounding villages, many of which have interesting Romanesque churches. Taize, the famous ecumenical centre, is about 5 minutes away by car and Cluny, with its Abbey, about 15 minutes.
